No part of this website may be used or reproduced in any manner for the purpose of training artificial intelligence technologies or systems. All text and training and data mining rights are reserved.
By the rules of Royal Road (novels that contain a negligible amount of AI-generated snippets may be tagged as “AI-assisted” rather than AI-generated) no AI was used in the creation of this story.
For full disclosure, snippets of foreign languages were created by Google Translate, Word spellchecker was used, and Google search results sometimes generate AI content (a search for primary source books resulted in an AI response that invented 50% of the listed works). Occasionally very simple search queries that were answered by search engine AI were accepted, but in general AI is beyond useless for research purchases as it invents too much, lies about it, and ensures that 100% of the responses can’t be trusted. At a certain level of skill (which I believe I am beyond) AI is useless for editing or writing as the bland, mediocre AI text is inferior to my own writing.
The cover art was commissioned and paid for and the cover artist did not use AI. The cover art for Hero in the Shadows predates the current glut of AI art.

With all this, it is considered that no AI was used in the creation of this story.
UPDATE: google translate now incorporates AI, because of course it does.
