Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how we protect and handle any personal information we collect, including via our website, social media pages/accounts, email, telephone and in person. It also covers any personal information we receive from third parties and provides you with an overview of your rights.

By using our products and services, including browsing our websites, registering, logging in or signing up, you agree that we may use your personal information as outlined in this Policy. There may be occasions when we share responsibility for the processing and protection of your personal data in connection with your use of our products and services as joint controllers with our partners (please see Who we are for additional information). In such instances our partners will process your personal data in accordance with their privacy notices.

Users in certain jurisdictions, such as residents of the United Kingdom, the European Union and U.S. States with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, have specific rights which are set forth below.

Who we are

GNM is an independent publishing company exclusively dedicated to publishing the work of Caledonia Kelly under various pennames and publishing imprints. LENG is one such imprint, publishing the Raptors of London (RoL) and affiliated materials relating to RoL under the penname Calmarkel.

All imprints, such as LENG and RebelWrath, fall under GNM which is the controller of your personal data for the purposes of data protection law.

These imprints also share infrastructure, systems and technology and all fall under the data control of GNM. These imprints work together to understand how our users interact with our products and services, and to share insights to improve our products and services.

What Kind of Information do we collect

We use the term “personal information” – also called “personal data” in the laws of some states and countries – to refer to information that reasonably identifies, relates to, describes, or can be associated with you. Data that has been deidentified or that otherwise cannot reasonably be related back to a specific person is not considered personal information. Once we treat data as deidentified, we commit not to attempt to reidentify such information. The precise definition of personal information may vary depending on your state or country of residence, but we take the same approach to protecting your privacy.

We collect the following types of personal information about you from various sources by different methods:

Information you have provided to us:

We collect information such as your name, email address, and payment details when you create and log into an online account, subscribe, order or register your interest in one of our products, or post a comment under an article, in addition to, where you or your organisation provide us with products or services, the name of your organisation and bank and account details and information relating to a particular transaction.

Comments

Site users can be classed as visitors or members. Members have paid membership and the information we gather regarding them is described above. Visitors have not paid for a membership. They use only the free parts of the site and we generally do not collect information on them. However, when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

f you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
